You do not need an external dimmer for this, but simply dim the light using your wall switch. When you switch on for the first time, you have full light output. Switch the light off and then quickly switch it on again. The light then starts to dim. Switch off and on again at the desired light level. You have now fixed your setting. The next time you switch on, the light returns to 100 %.
